We hope that you join us during the school year for this monthly meeting of book lovers! Each month we will pick a general theme and allow the participants to choose what book they would like to read that fits said theme. We meet on the first Tuesday of the month to discuss what books were chosen and how they fit the theme. Snacks will be provided to enjoy during our discussion!

A safe way to let your children use tablets.
Have you ever been nervous to hand your child a tablet? What if they dropped it, or worse, used the internet and found something inappropriate? We have a solution to these problems at the Howard Miller Library - the Playaway Launchpad!
These tablets come preloaded with games and apps that teach children about specific subjects. These launchpads are not eligible for holds nor renewals so it is first come first serve. They may be checked out for one week at a time. Each day overdue results in a $0.15 fine until the fine reaches the cost of replacement ($110-160). These are tough tablets that are made for children, but it can cost up to $160 to replace them if destroyed!
If you're interested in checking out a Playaway Launchpad, be sure to visit the children's selection and grab one of the boxes that interests your child! The boxes are checked out like a book from the front desk.
