Adult Summer Reading Program
Summer reading isn't just for kids!
Welcome to the Howard Miller Library 2020 Adult Summer Reading Program! From June 1 to August 8, you will be logging books digitally in Beanstack as you finish reading them. As you log your completed books on your device, you will earn virtual badges. Each title completed will earn you one reading badge. To finish the Summer Reading Program, you will need to earn at least 5 reading badges (5 books read). Every adult who logs 5 completed titles will receive a finisher’s prize. You will need to visit the library to pick up your finisher’s prize. Prizes will be available after June 30. In addition, at the end of the summer, we will have a drawing from all finishers for additional prizes.
Additionally, you will have the opportunity to participate in many virtual programs, including our book club, meeting via Facebook, our Trivia Thursday contests, and our grab-n-go craft events. Some events will have the opportunity to earn badges in Beanstack. While participation in these events is encouraged, reading is the only requirement for adults to complete the Adult Summer Reading Program.
Beanstack is available via app or website. It is easy to sign up an individual or a family. Beanstack will direct you to the challenges that you qualify for based on your age.
You can log your reading based on minutes, pages, and title of the book. You can even log for multiple people at once if you all are listening to the same book.
You can review books that you have finished and see your reviews on the homepage of Beanstack. Share why you would recommend that book with others in our community or find your next read by looking through the reviews!
