hoopla is an incredibly simple to download and use app. Card holders can currently check out a maximum of 3 items a month. The types of downloadables available on hoopla include television shows, movies, music albums, audiobooks, ebooks, and comic books! 

Signing up for hoopla

​Downloading app: 

  1. Register for a hoopla account by visiting hoopladigital.com, or by using our mobile app on your iOS or Android device. You will need to provide an email address, create a password, and have your library account information ready. Our free mobile app can be found in the App Store and the Google Play store. 
  2. Easily browse titles on your computer or mobile device by clicking Browse All on the format (Music, Movies, Audiobooks, eBooks, Comics, and Television) you wouold like to browse further on. You can also search for a specific title by clicking on the Search box or magnifying glass and typing in your title(s)/keyword.
  3. To borrow a title, click on the title and then click the Borrow button. Your borrowed titles can be played right after borrowing and found under the My Titles menu for viewing/listening. Enjoy your selected titles!
  4. Borrowed titles will be automatically returned when your lending period is over. There are no holds, wait lists, or late fees for any of hoopla's content.
You may use hoopla on your computer, but you can only download content through the mobile app (tablet or smart phone). This means you must have Internet access to read, listen, or watch hoopla content from your computer. 

​Length of Checkout: 

  • Movies: 72 hours (3 days)
  • Television Shows: 72 hours (3 days) - you download one episode at a time, so you may only download three episodes a month.
  • Music: 7 days
  • eBooks: 3 weeks
  • Comic Books: 3 weeks
  • Audiobooks: 3 weeks

Can I watch the movies/television shows I check out on my TV?

Yes! You can use:

Devices/Services that hoopla cannot be used on:

  • Internet Explorer 
    • hoopla recommends using Chrome or Firefox instead
  • iPad Mini
  • iPhone 4
    • And any earlier Apple Devices

Kindles and hoopla

Kindle Fires (2014-Present) can support the hoopla app! If you have a Kindle ereader (Paperwhite, Oasis, or regular Kindle) you will need to use Libby/OverDrive to read library books. Learn how to get them on your Kindle here
