Welcome to our 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Program!
The 1000 Books Foundation is a non-profit organization that encourages strong early literacy and family bonding by encouraging parents or guardians to read with their child every day! Read any book to your child (Newborn to entering Kindergarten), and color in an animal shape on your reading log. You can get a log from the library at the Children's Desk or print it off from this Google Drive folder. When you have completed your reading log, come in to collect a sticker for your child and receive your next reading log. When you have completed all 10 logs (1,000 books), your child will receive a free book and a certificate recognizing your family’s hard work and dedication to reading!
Using Beanstack to Complete 1000 Books Before Kindergarten
Beanstack is a great way to track your child's reading for this program! Each badge represents a log that you would turn into the library. You can come to the library to get a sticker each time you earn a badge or you can wait until you finish the program. Once you have all of the badges you may come to the library to get an official certificate and a free beginner reader book!
Logging your books online through the Beanstack website (on your computer, phone, or tablet) allows you to quickly log multiple books at once! You do not have to enter the title to log a book through the website. Watch these videos to learn how to quickly log using the app and website.
If you are logging on the Beanstack app you will need to search for the book title to log the book. You do not need to enter minutes or pages!
